Thanks to RossCanyonsofstatic I got my first EQD and also my first tone bender variation, the big red box Tone Reaper #40.
I know it's a honeymoon review, but damn I haven't played a pedal without any flaw/ bad sound for a long long while, and Tone Reaper is one of these rare pedals.
With single coils, it's noisy, but considering the amount of the gain it delivers, it's still fantastic.
On humbucker or my JM's hum-canceling position, it's crazy. It has the spongy tube amp feel to it that my heavily modded BlackHeart Little Giant just can't get by itself. The bass response is really strong but it also has a lot of clarity.
In all, I like this pedal way more than I expected.
I've noticed the gain pot tends to be more gated at 12:00 and gets noisier when turned both lower or higher gain. Is that the nature of this beast?
