Give me advice for my next purchase

Post by mutmoo »

I trust you guys more than any other board :joy:

Guidelines:
$100 tops
Not really looking at OD's, phasers, or flangers
Boutique the better

Right now I'm trying to choose in between a DE Ruiner, TP, or a Malekko Trem. It's basically a matter of whether I want to fill my stoner rock or garage rock needs.

Look for a used Fix'd fuzz. Maybe you can get one for $100. Seriously awesome fuzz! It's one of my favorite fuzzes right now. No joke.

I'm kinda feeling my stoner rock influences kicking in though (no offense)

Any pedal suggestions to help make a Fender Blues Jr. sound more desert rock-y? (Other than the Ruiner)
I was getting some pretty good sounds (for my setup) with the bass and mids at 10 and treble at 2 with the gain maxed, a Russian Big Muff with sustain maxed, and the neck pickup of my Gretsch.

Gretsch Hollowbody and Fender Blues Jr. stoner rock.

With that in mind, I'd go with the trem. :idk:

I hate to say it, as there are ALWAYS piles of awesome fuzz pedals out there, but you seem pretty well covered.

My favorite trem was the EHX Wiggler. You miht be able to find one for ard $100 if you check bay. When I bought one, I got it fr $120 or so.

Another vote for the trem. I bought mine initially as a "I'm getting into effects so I have no idea if I'll use this or not, but it's a great deal!" type of thing and I'm amazing at how much I do use it. On my fretless, I can really make the slides and fretless nuances jump out a lot more than just by myself, especially when holding out long tones. I like it so much that it's one of the few pedals you will see me using at church (sorry Tom, methinks the Chalice would scare some people... )

Whether I keep my current one (EHX Stereo Pulsar) or not, I'm definitely keeping a tremolo in my setup.

Either a Trem or a Reverb would be my suggestion.

Bet you could find a used Chicklet for 100 or less.
awesome signature with witty quotes from all you fuckers :)
