question about POTS

Post by solarolosonoio »

does someone know what are those called, the potentiometers that slightly stop in the middle position ?

like when you have a Shape control over the wave of an LFO, or an EQ control where middle is flat…
the pot stays right in the middle

I'd like to use one but I just can't find anything if I don't know what I'm looking for :idk:

thanks :)

That is called a "center detent" pot. Whenever a knob has a slot where it has a little extra resistance to turning, those are called detents.
