So I was given one of these guys the other day and I'm wondering what I should put inside of it. My first thought was obviously FUZZ but I think that'd be a waste of a rocking enclosure. My next thought was WAH but the only wah I want is a RMC Picture wah and there aren't any schems anywhere.
So what circuit would you guys suggest I slap inside? There's a surprising amount of space available, including that flat part in front for pots and switches... My only limitation is my skill level but I'm down for trying anything.

A delay is a pretty good idea. I'd want to have a switch that allowed me to control either the time or the feedback with the treadle, depending on my mood. I haven't seen that anywhere yet and it'd be very cool.
A ringmod/fuzz/delay would be even cooler but now I'm just letting my imagination run away with me.

I always thought it would be pretty cool to have a phaser in a wah shell. The trick is getting the right pot value for the treadle. There aren't that many values floating around that are ready-made to fit a wah enclosure. But, you could always make your own from a longer-shaft pot, and you can get replacement pinion gears from Smallbear.

How about a vibe though? Or a phaser? Or a Kay Fuzztone? Or a delay with the treadle as the rate knob? (blondgraeme did that with a wah shell and an old analog delay)
Good deals done with all these guys Canada, we put the "u" in satire

Hey, a vibe! That's a great idea. I don't own a vibe and I wouldn't mind playing around with one. This makes me think of trying to put a Pitch Pirate into the enclosure and using the treadle for the depth knob!

I mean, I'm certainly going to try but my skills are pretty darn weak in this area. You should see the mangled mess that the Tone Machine is now. She still works beautifully but the enclosure thing didn't work out at all. Then I tried to build a Dist+ ... EPIC FAIL! Finally I decided that I should make myself a breadboard... you don't wanna see how that turned out. I did manage to make me a working "Dead Easy Dirt", thanks to CultureJam and now I've been re-invigorated. I hope that small success turns into many more for me.
And anyway, if worse comes to worse, I can always grease your palm a little and send it your way, no?

i vote for a vibe or delay. i made this delay inside a crybaby once. ill try to make a video or something. are you in montreal? we might be starting a sort of diy club of sorts up again in the fall if you are around.
You could just build a simple feedback loop in it and use it with a delay... it'll create more repeats as you rock it until it oscillates. I've been meaning to do that myself, but I sold my only delay. >.<
Otherwise, maybe the GGG PT80 delay kit? Pretty easy build. Or just rehouse something-- but that could be a pain.
Oh! Oh! I got it! Ready? Sit down.
Build a delay in it. Add a switch to make the expression control feedback OR time. Then you could get, like, awesome pitch bends.
ya i made mine with time as the rocker. but also there is a switch to engage an LFO which controls time, and then the rocker controls the rate of said LFO. you can definitely get some wild pitch bends.
i didnt use the pt80 delay exactly but i did use the pt2399 IC which is what that circuit is based on.
Not to hijack the thread, but in your PT2399 delay, did you just use a simple circuit similar to what's in the datasheet? The PT-80 is basically an AD-9 with the PT chip, so it uses a compander and such.
I'm curious because I'd like to build a pedal based on that chip, but wasn't sure how it sounds as a delay without being in an analog-style circuit.
