the Algal Bloom in action!

Post by sevenSHARPnine »

So check it. Me and my bud had a pretty hefty jam session on Monday, and I threw some mics up and recorded it. I think this particular excerpt showcases one of my favorite things about the Algal Bloom: that raw, gritty, fat, kinda crumbly fuzz. I just dig this pedal.

Oh and for what it's worth, this was my bud Kyle on guitar (playing through my rig) and me on drums. Also, the Algal Bloom may or may not have had my Singing Tree running into it.

Hope you enjoy :hello:

Thanks for sharing.

I've been using somewhat similar settings myself on mine:
Starve - Between 10:00-11:00
Bloom - 12:00
Volume - Between 12:00-1:00
Trim - 3:00

By the way, I do wish the knobs were labeled.

No problem! Lately I've been upping the gain past noon, I like the throaty sound I can get out of it.

I'm assuming your AB is the one in your avatar? That thing looks killer! I saw it a while back in the custom thread. Labels would be helpful but it looks so sleek without them :excellent:

Cool. I find the gain/bloom sounds good no matter where it's set. I find it's a little darker below 12:00 and a littler brighter above 12:00. It's one of those pedals where it sounds great in many settings. So I tend to tweak the knobs the knobs a bit here and there.

Yep, that's my custom one. Thanks, Tom did a great job (as usual)!

Yea, it does look sleek without labels. I think it was just that I hadn't played it in a bit and almost forgot which knob was which! Of course it didn't take long to remember and figure it out.
