:erm:

I don't know, it sounds so overused, I never write songs or anything using a delay pedal anymore. I prefer reverb and loopers...

You can do a lot with delay though. Solo like delay is nice as is slapback but you should try something like a memory boy with an expression pedal. I can make some crazy sounds using my M9's delays with an EXP pedal.

I use slapback delay sometimes. I would really like to have an expression pedal to control shit though.

I had the coolest mod for a digitech digidelay once, I connected two points on the delay chip and the delays were all bitcrushed/ringmodded and I put a momentarily controlled photo eye in it to control the delay time. that was the best thing ever... but then I broke it.

I just use delay, although I think the Sunny Day Delay has more of an echo sound since its more muffled/ambient. Bright delays sounds I can't use too much. I use Delays more like Reverbs, MOAR SPACE PLZ.

I agree. If the repeats are bright on a delay, I won't get it. Obviously, that's why my favorite pedal ever is the DM-2.

I'm going to second the slapback/reverb-esque group here. Memory Boy, about 100 ms, feedback at 10, depth at about 9, vibrato. Sounds goddam increadible.

I'm in the more delay, more better group. I will take pretty much any delay I get my hands on. Thinking about getting a Watkins Copicat shipped over when I get enough cash.

Smile_man, you'll come back to delay sooner or later. If you liked it before, just give it some time. Always good to try new thangs.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

I never used to like reverb because it muddied the sound and lost all the crunch, and only liked analog delays because they make offensive spaceship noises.

But I',m knd of getting into reverb now...

Some reverb sucks (the amp reverb on my Blues Jr...) and some rocks hard (Dr. Scientist RRR). You just gotta find one that suits you best.

Also, FUCK YES SPACESHIP FEEDBACKING!

Fuck you. That's not even fair, man. We're all over here with our tiny analog delays, and you whip out that thing? C'mon. That's like apples to giant, solid-gold apples.

I've always like reverb a lot more than delay...

I've never experienced this as much as it makes sense. I can see how reverb can fuck up a good metal/heavy fuzz crunch though.

It depends on the reverb. Some do muddy and soften your tone but you often want that. A really clear spring reverb tends to work best for maintaining sparkly cleans and crunch.
