Shudder To Think

Post by Big Mon »

I really enjoy this band. Get Your Goat,Pony Express Record, even 50,000 B.C.-All great. Shit, almost forgot Funeral At the Movies and 10 Spot. Craig Wedren sounds wounded,Nate Larsen's riffs and flashes of lead guitar brilliance. Chaka off of Pony Express is one of the best songs evar!

Hit Liquor is great. That album is great. The other stuff I've not really listened to more than once.

STT is one of my favorite bands of the nineties.

The Larson/Wedren guitar interplay is quite cool as are Wedren's vocal lines.

I love STT. Saw them about a year ago in NYC. They played essentially all of Pony Express and Get Your Goat, with a few 50K BC tunes thrown in. It was a great appreciative crowd that knew every word, but there was one 'hardcore kid' who kept trying to slam with the corny kung fu crap and no one was interested. The kid starts howling out loud, "What happened to our scene man?" like an idiot. Shudder To Think was never appreciated by the hardcore scene, they were just on Dischord. Ian Mackaye used to have to go out before they played in DC to tell people not to be dicks. Wish he made the trip to NY to tell this kid. And I agree that Chaka is the best tune, The melody is great even though there are no words!
