Hey All, I have a 1975 Blue Box that is not giving me the octave. I'm getting the gated fuzz tone just no low notes.
Anyone here know what I can do or who could take a look at it?
thanks

Re: MXR Blue Box Help.
I'm in the U.K and would take a look at it but there are a few people about that might be more local to you on here
but i'd be happy to if no one else takes it up.
The Octave is produced by the 4013 chip I seem to remember... could be bad I suppose (it's a static sensitve chip and would cause the problem you describe) also at 35 years old electrolytic caps may need replacing inside or it could be something as simple as a bad solder joint etc.
Got any gut shots? Something you might not be able to spot might be spotted by someone else on here too and solve the issues.
