Dl-4 is fun I use mine a lot still and they are a good mod platform.

I would wait on getting a X4 until they figure out the firmware issues.
No word on when though. They are beta testing it with people who had my issue but I think most people just returned them.

The start of recording on the "up" position is probably due to the way they have coded the switching system.
It is true that it is rather a problem with looping, where timing really matters...
The X2 is the best simple looper in my opinion.
Problem with TC pedals is that they are very fragile. They use the same switching system as the Line6 DL4 : a switch actuator with a spring activates a microswitch on the PCB.
The issue is that microswitches are not made to handle high pressures like the pressure of a spring very close to it, so they break very quickly.

For my DItto (first gen), the only solution was to replace the switch by an arcade button: ( http://www.coda-effects.com/p/fixing-di ... -step.html )

Simply because normal SPST soft switches would not fit in the enclosure. It gave it a nice look, but it is not really the best solution out there for switching.

I wonder if classic SPST soft switches can fit in the Ditto X2?
Because, with such a mod, it could be the best looper indeed!

You can. Did it to mine a few months ago and has been working great.

Yeah the dittos use the line 6 design and they are bound to fail. I mentioned in the ditto thread you can mod them. I just never needed too. I did mod my dl-4 because of that issue.

As far as the switches on the 720 I was just wondering. It improved the functionality on the Cathedral and on the Freeze but I'm going to sell the 720 so I'm not going to bother trying.
