I want one of these real bad but the black on black finish isn't doing it for me...
I know Ryan said a new finish will happen eventually but the wait is
killing me.
I hope these sell like crazy and lots of cool new colors come out!

Welcome to the forum, grokostimpy!
Sorry for the bad news but we're doing a second round of the black boxes... the third finish won't be until October but we'll do a new one then and we're thinking of doing a coppery steam-punky finish for it.

Oh wow! Coppery and steam-punky sounds AWESOME
I guess I'll have to wait until October now, but thank you for giving me something to look forward to!

Okay, I'm ready! I've got the perfect spot cleared off on my board for The Elements...
must. be. patient.

...a copper-y finish?
You people at Dr. Scientist are just mean.
First, you make me want the RRR, even though I have an Eventide Space.
Then, you release the sexy Tremolessence, which I will undoubtedly be purchasing with the money I don't have.
Next, you create one of the coolest all-in-one distortion/OD/boost pedals in a sexy black finish.
And now you are saying it will be a copper steam-punk finish?
I don't know if I can wait until October...

I had to google "steam-punk"...
Wish I hadn't, copper Elements will be KILLER I'm sure! Need to avoid all pics of that one, I'll somehow convince myself I need two Elements (which wouldn't be redundant in any way, actually). Here we go, you guys and your bad ass finishes, one after the other, shame on you.

looks marketed as a mid to high gain pedal. still sounds great!
There was no mention of this being an expanded version of the now discontinued Cleanness.
Does this pedal also cover the capabilities of the discontinued woof wailer?
A demo video of it as an EQ pedal would probably have been really boring anyways.

How do the lower gain sounds stack up to those in the cleanness?

I never tried the Cleanness, so I can't compare... but I can tell you that the low gain side sound very good... and The Elements like to stack with others pedals.
I tried:
Four Eyes Fuzz "Fairfield Circuitry" > The Elements (in the Cleanness Mode, switch set to low)... sound AWESOME. The EQ is magic.
I also tried:
The Elements (fuzz like, switch set to high gain) > Hydra "Liquid Gain"... The Elements like a little boost from the OD... sound EVIL and LOUD.
Then:
Fuzzy Lady "Plum Crazy FX" (bias set on the gated side) > The Elements (high gain)... another winner (gated heavy fuzz... kind of static sounding).

Nice board! Tell us about that fancy looking gold pedal above the future Elements, looks neat!

I think it's pretty cool you guys like the idea of a coppery steam-punky pedal! I wasn't sure if that would go over well or not... I think it's gonna be cool for sure. Our second round of the black boxes has shipped so we're 6 weeks away from the copper finish being started.

Syl, that guitar is nuts! That JetCityMusic demo is really good, hey? I really like those guys' style!

Yeah, Kev, the demo does make the pedal seem geared more for that kind of sound but that's a good point about an eq demo maybe being boring... I'm just happy with any demo video that sounds cool and they did that for sure. The Elements can cover all the same territory of the Woofer Wailer too, no sweat! That's a demo I'd like to do one day, show how the The El can sound and operate like a Cleanness and like a WW and make all the same sounds.
Blurillaz wrote:How do the lower gain sounds stack up to those in the cleanness?
Yo B-man! The Elements has all the same gain range as the Cleanness, just at a lower spot on the gain knob. You set the gain to the low position, the clipping to off, bass cut off, and midrange to the bottom position and you're in Cleanness mode. I always wanted to deck the Cleanness out with clipping diodes and more gain so the Elements starts with the Cleanness and then goes on from there.
