Dude from death in june was on like half of his records. I'm not convinced that death in june has ever incited someone to commit a hate crime or anything, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Ah, yeah, it's not a great association, that's for sure. I just don't typically lump C93's output into the same sort of fascism -- though they have similar slides towards similar 'finger in the ear' dirges.

I never listened much to DiJ, or were ever intrigued by any of that. Have listened to a bit of Current93 and other neo-folk or what have you. But I happened to see this documentary once, it does offer a good few insights into his mind and the imagery he's been so 'obsessed with', in his own words, from a very young age. It's a dark, interesting life story, anyway, if you're into that sort of thing:

yeah for real I think that Dougie P's fascism obsession is a lot more nuanced than 'he's a secret nazi', and I dig a couple of DIJ records. It just kinda annoys me that he doesn't cop to the responsibility of flirting with that kind of iconography a bit more, you know? There's always been this faint pretentious air of 'well how dare you just ASSUME that because I'm wearing an SS camo smock and using excerpts of Horst Wessel Lied and singing about fields of rape and rose clouds of holocaust that I'm a nazi' that pisses me right off. People who take the road of messing with things people find offensive lose the right to complain when others get offended.

Just checking in to say I really love Current 93/David Tibet and from my understanding of it, which D.o.S will tell you is surface, but I think he's wrong, ANYWAY, I don't think David Tibet is a Nazi. No Nazi would ever put a section of the Dead Sea Scrolls to music.
