Guess I'm about to find out. Got a 5-string-minus-the-wuss-tiny-string set for 10bux less than new, hells yeah.

Normal 10s for electric guitar, medium top/light bottom for acoustc (and women), and 45-105s for bass.
I'm boring.

I'm looking for a set of .12's that have a would G and at least a .56 on the low E. Any recommendations?

Found the answer. Just getting a pack of Not Even Slinkys and then some spare wound .24 G strings! (TWSS)

Dood so far these .130 BEAD cobalts are glorious when paired with mudbuckers. Brings some much-needed articulation but playing fingerstyle way up on the neck is still instant dubtoans.
Whenever someone describes a toan as "pianolike" I'm always all, "the fuck are you talking about, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN" but now I get it. Neato.

Just threw some DR .12s on my Tele Deluxe. Tuned to C standard. Definitely fun, but I want to try some of those "drop tune" strings to get some tension back. Anyone have much experience with them?

I've got 8s on my bastardised LP Jnr, mainly because the headstock has been repaired, 10s on everything else except the 79 Strat that has 12s and big fat frets.
I really don't feel or hear any difference between Ernie Ball, D'Addario, Gibson, and Dean Markley strings. I suspect they're all made in the same factory anyway, so I buy whatever's available.
My classical has Hannabach Silvers though, as nothing else touches them.

The D string on my cobalts broke for like... no reason
so, being thrifty, i bought a set of GHS Gilmour 10,5-050s again since for one set of cobalts, i could buy two gilmours
i used to use them for a long time, not with the jazzy yet, we'll see... playing a show next saturday
i like the hybridness so far

the 050 is well chunky!
