well at the moment i am working with patterns involving just +- 1 octave range but there is nothing preventing it from going beyond that. the sound may become increasingly retro satellite as the range becomes more extreme. You get sweeps over the whole 2 octave range the way it is which is pretty effective already, but ya as i said, no reason it couldn't go further.
