I think this is their best period, the noise were incorporated in such a seamless way. It was part of the songs not just freakouts.
Their songforms are their most open and experimental during this period. The peak of their powers before they started getting lazy on the songwriting.
The noise at the end of the NYC Ghost & Flowers song almost always tear me up, such a sad song. My favorite behind The Diamond Sea.
Saw them play NYC..... once, but sadly I never saw them play the diamond sea.
