I kind of wish I hadn't posted that. I did so in a moment of frustration, as it's always so irksome to see these things pop up on reverb days after they've sold at some grossly inflated price. However, the purpose of this thread was not to bitch about flippers, rather to discuss Blooper and all the blooping fun to be had therein. I am working on focusing on the positive rather than the negative, should have accepted the inevitability of flipping and just left it alone. Sorry for bringing negativity into the thread.
It's OK. I think that negative has already bore the fruit of something more positive.

Shoot, looks like I missed some comedy gold.

Gold.
BTW-Check your Blooper firmware. Joel posted that some (most before serial #400) got the proto firmware. He sent out a blog post to the Kickstarter page with instructions on how to update. The PC version is a slight PITA but worth it.
Be aware that updating the firmware will remove the duplicated banks of modifiers if that’s of concern. I just did it tonight and am slightly bummed by that. Before the update I could have two banks of the B modifiers up and running at the same time so I could use the filter with the stepped speed control.

How were you able to do that? I had to update the firmware, but as far as I know even before the update could not do that with mine.

The alternate banks of modifiers can be selected with the dip switches on the back. Before I updated my firmware, A had a dupe of B as the alternate and B had a dupe of A so you could run two identical banks at once. After the update, those alternate banks are just empty.

The reason we nixed that in the production firmware is that in some cases you couldn't double up modifiers (you couldn't have two scramblers for example) so for the production version we just reserved them for future modifiers we want to make. I also hope to make a system where users can potentially pick their own modifiers and locations.

Awesome! Great job with these. I’m looking forward to new modifiers and possibly the ability to customize their locations. Is there any chance that users, in the future, would be able to build their own modifiers? Maybe submit them for review or something.

I second that. You could set up a voting forum like empress has with their reverb, echosystem and zoia.
OR it could be cool to collab with other pedal builders and have them design modifiers based on their own effect designs?

This is a really cool idea! I imagine with all the collabs CBA does it could be a possibility.

Joel, will there be any difference on the the stock ones? Color or anything? Just curious. I didn't get to snag one and still want to try one when they come back around.

No difference between kickstarter and retail units.
Unless you count a wooden box, which happened as a one last time special kickstarter reward.

That’s awesome news! The box will be missed but the new ones are nice as well!

Guess I better be watching the newsletter!

thanks!!

yep and this time we charged extra for the wooden boxes so you really aren't missing out on anything if that wasn't your thing.

I've said multiple times that I don't like the layout of the Blooper and I wish it was bigger with more knobs, but now that I'm seriously looking for a looper, I keep thinking, I should just get a Blooper

Its a lot of fun and pretty easy to navigate all the nifty little things it does. The only problem I have with it is hitting both footswitches at once to clear loops. Then again I would imagine that doing that with shoes on would make a big difference.
