I'll have you know I get a perfectly passable "not quite clean sound" out of my Spider 3. Dirt pedals sound like shit through headphones though. :/

It's just that L6 stuff hasn't kept up and I'm happy with alternatives - and realistically, after a while, while I like "different flavors" of Amp X, just like no two vintage ones are going to sound the same anyway...I don't need to jump down another rabbit hole and if I'm going to spend $1500 on the Firehawk...I'm getting a damn AxeFX intead.

The POD HD was my rig for a very long time but Line 6's amps are a bad option for anyone outside of the "gigging guitarist who's 100% desperately broke" demo
