Not everyone thinks the Pogues are great, give it a rest guys.
The Pogues are twice the band The Jesus Lizard was. Those who do not think they are great are blasphemers all.
Like... coming in here saying the word "punk" and then imply that The Pogues were not great. SMH

I think part of my feelings toward venerated bands like the jesus lizard is my total hatred towards all the punk boys with "good taste" who used to be assholes and mock me for having not listened to important bands a through z. The Jesus Lizard wasn't what it was hyped to be.
And the midwest rules. I am from new york,.so I won't apologize for folk punk either.

if it's any consolation most of the older punks think those dudes are toys. They all end up getting too far into collecting obscure RAC presses and become rockabilly dudes eventually anyway. Which is basically a fate worse than death.

I love douchey goth stuff but that whole provocative-swastika-noisefolk-jerkoff scene is lame. Well, Current 93 has some ok material I guess. Dude is probably a shithead and i won't be giving him my money ever, but that black ships ate the sky record is rad.

And generally having collaborated with some of those people? And yeah, i love a lot of goth and industrial and metal. It weirds me out how easily extreme music has been tied to extreme politics, on either side of the spectrum. Though I am vastly more tolerant of the stuff on the left.

Dude from death in june was on like half of his records. I'm not convinced that death in june has ever incited someone to commit a hate crime or anything, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
