I don't know, I don't really remember many bands being as mellow as Witch as far as vocals + approach back in the mid 00's. It was like them and Acid King and early Dead Meadow. Everyone else seemed like they were on that Corrupted/Sunn/Electric Wizard trip.

Love Uncle acid. Those are some unoriginal stolen riffs I can seriously get down with. Witch is pretty rad too.

Kvelertak were here recently and I talked em up a bunch before the show. The time previously they had a killer set, energy was through the roof, was awesome. So they come around again with Red Fang and Helms Alee, and it was just flat. I felt like an ass for talking them up so much to my friends. not the same show at all, felt like they were just going through the motions.

So my point is this. Not all performances are created equal. They SHOULD be, but shit happens. I had to play a show once with the flu and I was so congested that everything sounded hollow and echoed. At stage volume I had no idea what was going on. I just started songs and played all the way through, hoping I was with the rest of the band and they were still playing. I had no idea. Probably was terrible.

Yeah, bad gigs happen to everyone.

I've seen Kvelertak three times, the first time was really bad. They had all sorts of technical difficulties, delayed the set for over half an hour, and one of the guitarists had a string break but didn't have a backup so he had to restring midset. It was kind of a disaster.

The next two times they destroyed the universe and were incredible. One of the most fun live bands I've ever seen. The last time Erlend grabbed my face cuz I was in the front row and really fast checked a text. I felt like a complete asshole.

Oh I didn't even go. My friends band opened and that's what he told me after the gig..... I'm not paying to see a band I don't like.....
