It was a good question.. and better to ask before I'd shipped it... it totally wouldn't have been the end of the world if you'd wanted a boost instead of a buffer, just a little more wait time and probably a bigger box. It was really tough squeezing a soft touch buffer into the 1590A... would be so much easier with a proper pcb rather than perf board.

I just would have felt bad building you the wrong thing!

I think it'll work great for Andy though and totally solve the tone loss involved with a whole bunch of true bypass pedals. So thanks again, Andy, and I hope you dig it!

It's perfect Ryan thanks so much buddy!!
I appreciate the effort with the soft touch switch, I love them! I've never understand why there not used more often throughout the pedal world?? Oh well just another touch that makes Dr s pedals a cut above the rest!! :thumb:

Thanks Andy!

Soft touch switching is a lot more complicated than the normal 3PDT switch... first I had to come up with the code that tells the micro what to do, then every micro for every pedal has to be burned in with the code using a little usb programmer, plus it adds a bunch of stuff to the build as you need a 5V regulator for the micro, the micro, the necessary components for it, a transistor to run the relay, a relay or two if stereo, and the momentary switch. Way more time and money involved but it's a way more reliable and long-term system than a mechanical switch.

My word!!!!
No wonder it was a challenge getting into a 1590a!! :thumb:
This just emphasizes my above statement!
More work and money but ultimately a better more reliable product!
As I said cut above man! Cut above
