on the other hand, if he was buying the pedals wholesale and repainting them at least Devi would be getting something from the deal.
it's kind of tempting to just write the whole thing off by saying that anyone who'd pay double price for a clone of one of Devi's pedals deserves to, but the whole attack-through-the-retailers tactic is really beyond the pale IMO, especially when from the FSB thread it would appear that JHS has made <20 of their clones. even if JHS prevails, it'd be the very definition of a Pyrrhic victory, as any lawyer with a conscience would tell the guy in 30 seconds...he's going to pay an attorney more just to consult and file a response than he's made on the boxes at issue. plus if he loses he may establish a legal precedent that kyping someone else's circuit is actionable, which not only opens up a yawning chasm under his business model but under large chunks of the whole pedal industry. it may be in a lot of folks' interests for this to go away quickly and quietly.
