I'd recommend a blue knob. I never played one of the originals, but the blue still produces a good bit of noise and I don't think I'd be stoked with any more.

I'm bummed the Spectres didn't do better, though... maybe people just aren't into the flange. Madness.

I don't know why people wouldn't be into flanger.

She is like the empress of modulation effects.

I can attest to the quality of the Blue Knob Spectre. It's a quality flanger, and I EQ most of the unwanted noise out anyway (although I'm not using high res or any "wild" settings).

Hifi is a little disappointing (mainly because I was looking forward to a new concept) but I do understand why this is an important move for CBA. Discontinuing MK2 is a mistake, though. Thank god I got mine ages ago.

I can totally understand the business rationale and highly recommend his interview on the ruffian show podcast. The way he discusses how the pedal business works (from his perspective) for CBA I can totally respect the moves. Also worth listening to the alexander pedals interview.

Well that sounded lovely. Been avoiding the demos since I knew I'd like it. It does sound almost too clean though. Delay time knob is a good replacement for the volume knob.

I do like chorus to be clean. Otherwise sounds like EVH :duck:

Yeah I'm not much of a chorus guy either, and in that regard, the wv mk II is bit dull, it lacks presence. Maybe the new version has fixed that.
To me though, the wv is a vibrato first and foremost. Chorus and trem are a bonus. And vibrato wise, it's a killer pedal. A splendid heartbreaking sound of awesomeness!!!

I'm always happy when I have the option for brighter sounds from chorus *shrugs*

Hmm, I'm fine with the lower noise and higher headroom. And the lag knob is nice. But I'd miss the volume knob - I like to keep a preset that ramps the volume knob, so I can easily access trem sounds.

This 2nd demo has done nothing to dissuade me from riding the HiFi train. I guess this will be my 5th Chase Bliss pedal. :snax:

I think the new one sounds kinda pretty. The old one is cool too though. I've never had one but a friend of mine has the WV mkii and it's a super cool pedal. I'm really looking forward to playing with this!

As for the other pedals being discontinued... Can't be all that bad, there's plenty of them out there in the wild so it shouldn't be hard to grab one.

"The lag knob let's you create an almost doubling effect in the chorus"

Sounds like something Billy Cardigan would say.
