I tried it in a store before I got my BOSS Katana. Get a Katana.

I'm glad to see that there's finally a Line 6 apologists' thread on ILF.
My favourite thing about the Spider is the reaction from salespeople in GC or local music shops when I play on them.
Most of the time they get so confused by the sounds of jazz chords through unacceptable levels of distortion that they insist on adding some shitty effect to the mix to really convince me not to buy one.

They give Ben Adrian money and he seems like a good dude so they get a pass.

Dude, there was a point where touring bands like Static X and their ilk were doing this so I'm not surprised.
The late 90s-early 00's is a period we're gonna be a long time getting over.
Like Colonialism.

Isn't this essentially what all the axefx dudes are still doing?

Yeah except, from what I understand, the Axe FX doesn't suck.

I know that thing gets a lot of grief around here, but it must be conceded, it looks awfully convenient.
Sorry, old tube amps have worn me down in recent years.
But I'm not gonna jump the fence.

Dude I get that. I've even had persistent annoying issues with solid state heads, so the dependability factor is huge. There is just something so lame about running absolutely silent on stage, just in ears and the P.A. That being said, my roots are all in punk and house shows, so I'm super far from the intended audience.

Oh yeah, for sure.
You'd at least want a power amp and a cab of some description.

afaik you can still run a stack while using an AxeFx. I have some friends who use them (NEEEEERDS) and they definitely still have amps pushing air on stage alongside the in-ears.

Yeah, Line 6 can do whatever they want. I just won't buy any of it. :idk: Ben Adrian is a good dude though.

Oh yeah, for sure. You can sort of see why people opt for the single box of rack thing option, though.
This is gonna be totally Rigs of Dad, but I believe Billy Howerdel is using one as part of his rig instead of a pedal board.
Totally understandable. There'd be way too many weird effects to haul around otherwise.
Counterintuitive to ILF ethos, I know.

Like everything else, the workflow should serve the music, not the other way around.
