Probably not very unfortunately. The preamp of a Model T is not high gain at all, and stacking them wouldn't do much except maybe slam the preamp tubes of the actual amp into somewhat of an overdrive.

I've spent a good month with the Model T pedal now, I tend to just leave it on all the time. Works perfectly with my setup, finally able to get some of the tone I hear on old ISIS(red sea/celestial) and Cave In(pre-antenna)recordings, gives me some versatility I've been looking for out of my gainy amp. My clean channel is now useable and gives life to a few fuzz's I previously hated due to the voicing of my amp. I'd probably agree that most around here would probably have no use for this pedal, considering most of you probably already own old marshall, sunn, ampegs's, traynor's, and etc, in that case I tend to agree this pedal would probaly be nothing more than a pricey overdrive, that will give a nice articulate mid-low boost. I like it, favorite gear purchase I've made lately, and have made many recently.

I guess the OP was talking about the MT tube preamp pedal cs offers. I was thinking it was the tube beta hybrid he was mentioning for some reason:

No worries if it continues to receive disapproval amongst the consensus. moar t0nez 4 m3

It's not that we're hating on the pedal -- it's that it makes dick for sense for what homie is trying to do.

I'm running a Peavey 6505+, which is pretty much a fizzy beast, but I love how tight it is, what I don't like is how high-mid focused the amp is, probably due to it being fixed bias, and biased right around 18 which makes this head pretty cold. Clean channel was ice picky and sterile, and I was really needing a more useable clean to use as alot of my playing consists of gain staging and texturing. I hated just about every fuzz I ran through this amp because they always seemed thin and nasally. I've tried various od's, boosts, and eq's to try to ehance the bottom end of my amp but mainly only got mud in return. Figured I'd try a preamp pedal along the lines of an old super bass or super lead to try to fill out the tonal spectrum some. While browsing the wonderful forums here, I came across a few threads to point me in the right direction, and wound up purchasing a Model T preamp pedal as a drunk impulse buy at 4 am. This Model T preamp and a few Weber Amsterdams have really gone along way in warming things up for me and making my setup nice and beefy.

Funny you say that as I passed up a Traynor YBA 3 at a pretty decent price, problem for me is a space issue, my playing/recording space is now my bedroom as I've recently moved into a smaller home, I run my guitar rig along side an old akai mpc, a newly aquired korg mini synth, some rack gear and my wife's nord keyboard into a roland jazz chorus. Just kinda felt i wouldn't be able to do the Traynor any justice as I no longer have space for my marshall 4x12. Outside of that the superficial visual aspect of everything would look off as my guitars are of the pointy headstock nature, and that with a vintage amp, just seemed off, my wife brought that to my attention, and she's probably right, shit like that bugs me.

I also play a wide variety of music from stuff like mogwai, gybe, etc... to dillinger escape plan, whitechapel, etc and just about everything in between, just didn't think somthing vintage would really sound the greatest playing gojira riffs. Shitty one shitty is about right, I butchered a 6505+ combo into an odd little "towelie" head+cab, and pretty much had to replace all the cabinetry with 11 ply birch, as the original MDS was rotting away, now she's sturdy, and allowed me to off my "shitty one shitty" 120w head and mesa 2x12, in return I was able to update my other rig, lol, and added sovereignty peyote perc to the glass stash

vintage amps fucking rule dude. they were built back in the day before bean counters ruined everything. they were built to not only crush the competition, but to last till WWIII.

shit these days is just built so fucking cheap, and on a throw away principal. fucking sad. . . anyways, go get that traynor, a rat a fuzz and an overdrive. that will give you tone that will kick the shit out of anything a "modern" amp can give you that's not a trillion dollars.

I agree that vintage is better in most regards, don't think i wasn't disgusted with the shit mds that peavey used to build this 60w dumpster fire of a combo, but for $150 for a beat up amp, and $75 in materials, and a vast knowledge in carpentry, I was able to create a quality compact head + cab that quite honestly rips and is now sturdy as anything from a quality cab manufacturer.

I'm pretty much handcuffed to a 12x18 bedroom as my area for musical creativity, unlike before , and making space for all my bedroom furnishings plus mine, and my better half's gear has proved quite challenging, hell I have 8 pedals crammed onto a pedaltrain mini just to save valuable floor space as my old skb board wasn't gonna work. If I could of had my cake and ate it too, I would've been happiest keeping my 120w 6505+ head, bought the yba-3, and run both in stereo, instead I had a huge ebay gear fire sale, bought a waterpipe, a pontoon boat, and a shitty little combo I learned alot from.

As for the use of my gear, I no longer gig, and pretty much only record, and practice, practice, practice. My needs for now and for the forseable future is a rig that is compact, light, and versatile. The only gripes I have with most vintage amps is the lack of a direct out, which for me makes things quick and easy when double tracking from one take, at this time I'm mic'ing the 1x12 cab, and running direct out into a speaker emulator of choice.

Anyways, I'm really liking my downsized rig, the model t pedal is pretty much doing as i expected, and giving life to a pretty much lifeless clean channel, with the advantage of being crammed onto a small board. I enjoy the personal touches put into my gear, from my re-created amp, to my franken ibby built from mutiple 80's jap ibanez parts, and last but not least my beloved prototype esp/ltd m 302 that has been refitted with all schaller hardware and active pups. As you can see I'm more attached to my charity gear projects, than I am with some of my more exspensive gear purchases made in the past, although whiskey, I wouldn't mind giving your setup a try, seen that over on the amp thread and wish I had the means to properly utilize a rig like that.
