Sadly, they're no longer in production, though Subdecay now has fancier Quasars available. Maybe you could find one on evilBay if you wuz lookin'.

Edit: while I aven't tried it myself, I've heard good things about the EQD Grand Orbiter.

+1
Haven't felt the need to try other phasers since getting a baby quasar
Got mine on evilBay pretty much brand new for $70, I'm sure others will pop up from time to time
It just sounds 'right', you can really fine tune things with the freq/voice knobs

I'm actually leading towards a quasar because I love the stuff subdecay makes

The Subdecay Quasar Quantum and the Whetstone are both on my list.

Anyone played a Diamond Phase? Just scored one on eBay locally. Was looking for a Grand Orbiter but one thing led to another....

Yeah! I LOVE my prometheus

I bought a baby quasar on ebay earlier today (looks like I outbid someone by a penny?) so I have a phaser coming!

Apparently I like discontinued/limited run phasers best. :erm:

Effectrode Phase-O-Matic Deluxe PM-2C.
BEZ Street Sweeper.

The former has provided me with a year's worth of sci-fi sounds since I managed to track one down last March. Uncomplicated, yet extensive function for a fixed 4stage, oscillating phaser.

The latter has given me new hope that I, too may someday learn how to wah. Because I suck at wah; but using a non-oscillating phaser on a treadle...I get the wah and wow sounds I've been after...without any of the annoyances from the wah like ice pick highs in full toe-down position.

Definitely let us know what you think! I used mine live for the first time last month, and guys from the other bands came up after our set to specifically comment on how lush that phase sound was...

Whetstone, noisy as hell, but I love him :)*
I'm interessed to buy a second phaser: Quasar DLX? Grand Orbiter? the new coming Catalinbread phaser? I'm a Phaser addict :!!!:
For example I hate the Phase 90 :grumpy:

Best. Phaser. Ever. It's a bit noisy, though, but I'm sure anyone with decent soldering skills could replace all those carbon resistors in an hour or two.
