Re: Question about Reverb Pedals
$250 is an INSANE price to pay for a chicken.
There is NO mojo to the special addition, they just have a different color and the dwell mod.
I'm not sure if Malekko is still performing dwell mods on original chickens. If so, it's usually cheaper to pick up a non-dwelled SC and send it to Josh.
The chicklet was born out of a desire to replicate the SC (w/ dwell) without using the belton brick.
They cost less because they take advantage of the new (re: cheaper/quicker) production method of the omicron series.
I'd go by which features appeal to you. One is TB and has expression control, the other has trails (a GOOD buffer) and is much more quiet.

Re: Question about Reverb Pedals
So I'm thinking I'll go with the Chicklet then. Even the original Spring Chickens w/o the dwell knob go for crazy prices now so modding one will still put me in the 250 range. In fact PGS has a used Chicklet I'll pick up. If it's not for me I can send it on back for credit. Thanks for the input. I tend to get all wishy/washy on the pedal I want once I have the cash in hand.

Re: Question about Reverb Pedals

Discussion goes in the direction of how awesome reverb pedals are, answering the OP's inquiry about justification in having more reverb.
I'm doing what I can to justify derails. This one's just a lot easier than most!

And, while I like the way it sounds, I've been thinking I might like to get a reverb pedal at some point, to allow for a reverb sound that my amp doesn't produce.
Is this a reasonable goal, or is there simply not enough 'variation' in a reverb sound to warrant getting a separate pedal reverb?
clueless here...need some enlightening
I still stay Tech 21 Boost RVB for overall quality and versatility. It's not got specific 'modes' like most pedals but you can get big, dark hall reverbs and brighter plate style sounds from it. However, if you're really after unusual reverbs you could try out the EHX Cathedral maybe?

Re: Question about Reverb Pedals
sorry to resurrect
Ok, so i bought a RV-3 expecting those long great reverbs of Isis, Hammock and so on and i'm disappointed... longer settings just sound fake and not really that deep... shorter settings are quite decent, but i don't want reverb for short reverbs. And 100% wet option is just absolutely retarded-sounding
i don't play in a post-rock band, but we have some more mellow, chilled out parts in our songs i want to enhance. BTW i absolutely love post-rock, it's the thing that drives my search for a reverb pedal
could i be happy with Tech21 Boost R.V.B?
btw the best reverb i've ever accomplished is extreme Reverse delay on Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai... it's unbelievably rich, deep and lush. But when i want to use reverb sound with Disaster transport and SMMH cascading into each other, i can't and this is why i want to buy a standalone reverb

Re: Question about Reverb Pedals
Well I may be shot for saying this, but I would look into the BBE Two-Timer. It's actually a pretty good reverb. Even though I think the switchable times are a bit of a gimmick, it's actually quite practical fo switching between reverb/delay times. Just thought I'd put that out there.

Re: Question about Reverb Pedals
Holy Grail suit's me better
it's not as long, but it seems much more natural and pleasant sounding while still being pretty deep
and the flerb mode is fun!
