Re: The Netflix/Hulu/Prime Thread
The Liberator is great, favorite rotoscoping ever. There are some weird quality inconsistencies, like the cheap looking explosions and fire, but overall I think they nailed the aesthetic, and I love the ridiculous grunge overlay that covers every shot, making the whole series look like the cover of a worn out old paperback. Marvel and DC should see this and feel deep shame over their boring, generic, soulless animation productions and complete lack of visual edge. Top creative talent is what made comics special, and I keep waiting for their movies and TV to come around to this school of thinking/way of ruling. Maybe this will be a kick in the ass they actually feel? One can hope.

I agree about Liberator. I watched the first episode. It feels like a straight up Sgt Rock or GI Combat comic. I'm sure that the rotoscoping allows them to shoot cheaply. DC should do a Weird War series in this style!

Waiting on new seasons of Witcher (got hooked on the game earlier this year) as well as Outer Banks. I enjoyed both alot. Other then that, me and the female generally watch 3 or so movies a week between. We're still trying to find another good series to get into while we wait for our main ones to come back, which may take a very long time obviously. Im a big movie and documentary person to begin with, especially this year lol

Saw the new Adventure Time stuff on HBO.
It's still depressing, maybe a little extra depressing, honestly.

Re: The Netflix/Hulu/Prime Thread
i never got around to finishing the Adventure Time series. i know, i suck. is it 5 seasons? is the stuff on HBO beyond the first run?
i liked Nathan For YOU a lot, Queen's Gambit was good until the last episode and a half. almost done with the second season of Harley Quinn Animated. it's so GOOD.
Animal World is a silly concept done really, really enjoyably. if you liked the Raid movies, WATCH THE NIGHT COMES FOR US. started What Happened To Monday, super intrigued, but the wife wanted to watch it together after i summarized it.

Re: The Netflix/Hulu/Prime Thread
Finally started watching the second season of the OA. I wasn't really into the idea of starting it, but got really into the first couple of episodes. Kind of went downhill with plot holes and inconsistencies after that though.
Also started watching We are the Champions, which is pretty great. It's a docuseries narrated by Rainn Wilson about the weirdest competitions in the world

Re: The Netflix/Hulu/Prime Thread
Actually started watching movies on Netflix to take a breather from increasingly stale CW DC-hero-centered TV shows that were once the mainstay. Iron Sky: The Coming Race, Priest, Spectral, and What Happened to Monday were all much more entertaining than anticipated (some would have probably served as interesting source material for a full series). I also binge watched all of Umbrella Academy Season 2 last weekend, which left me eager for more. Glad Netflix didn't cancel it along with so many other shows randomly dropped in 2020 after a season or two. Also looking forward to more Witcher (as is the missus).

Re: The Netflix/Hulu/Prime Thread
This has on my list for ages. I looooooved the first season. Not because it made sense or anything, I just found the mood and vibe really exciting. And like you I have been quite reluctant. I did not think it needed another season at all so I'm worried it will be worse, hahaMrNovember wrote:Finally started watching the second season of the OA
