(dizzy from circuit tracing flashback) ... Mixing two is good or you can just skip the mixer and split the signal to two different amps. I love doing this as you can spread them as wide as you wish. your left and right ears hear differently according to psycho-acoustics. the right ear predominantly favors trebel and the left Bass.
I mixdown songs with the heavier Bass stuff in my right ear to pick up more of the upper transients and the trebel in the left channel to naturally roll of some of the harsh stuff i don't want . It's very subtle but works wonderfully when done correctly.
& why play Mono when you can evolve into stereo, and I think that's also sort of the reason that The JC120 Roland amp and a few other twins have two channels to make the chorus and reverb sing exquisitely. Of course some mianstream market pedals also have stereo outputs to help split the signal.
PLUS headphones will cause hearing fatigue very quickly and accelerate long term hearing damage.
NOTE : left handed people have their psycho-acoustics reversed. ... just some dumb trivia I picked up out of an old Scientific American from the seventies, 25 cents @ a garage sale.

If a pedal on my board feels ashamed, it needs to find a new home.

I have used a passive mixer a few times, running things in parallel.

do this all the time.
works great.
gets completely unique tones.
effects in parallel really help maintain definition.

Re: Two fuzz pedals and a mixer
A friend of a friend has built a guitar with individual pickups for each string. I have been asked to build him a 6 channel overdrive/fuzz and a mixer to bring it down to fewer inputs if need be. Completely insane!

I love the smell of solder in the morning.
