I decimated two DL4's. They sound pretty cool and go APESHIT when you turn the delay time all the way down and the feedback all the way up (coolest self oscillation EVER), but they're made out of tinfoil and rubber bands.

I use a Carbon Copy into a Nova Delay. Heaven's gates open to illuminate my Krank 2x12 cabinet.

anyone ever considered re-housing a DL4?

And does anyone have a recording of this?:

I've personally never used a DL4, but I have to say, the size really turns me off (the DD-20 is already too big to me as it is). But the lead guitarist in Daikaiju has one, and he seems to like it a whole lot... Then again, maybe he just uses it because it still hasn't broken... I don't know, haha.

But they' would be very inconvenient for using live, you have to turn it with your hands. I found it to be too small to turn with my foot, I've heard of people putting those MXR things on the knobs to make it easier though.

I'd gladly make a recording of it if I still had a working DL4. Other delays do similar things, but I don't know what, exactly, makes the DL4 oscillate the way it does. It's quite odd, really, unless mine did it as a side effect of it breaking down.

This is true. DL4 probably as conveninet as your gonna get for presets.
