It gives off strong Foxx Tone Machine vibes so that might be why.

When you're the kind of person who doesn't like to give credit, you just use clip art, it would seem.

They could have called it the Aubrey.

I see lots of people using public domain art for flyers and stuff, but that's relatively non-commercial compared to a pedal company doing it. There's no mention of the artist on the Red Witch website? Even that would be something...

Personally I stay away from pedals that swipe art and if it's so incredible that I have to have that sound I'd pay the extra to re-house it. No Simpsons themed pedals, no pink panther bullshit, etc... But I'm a designer so getting ripped off hits close to home.

Before I even read the description I thought Tone Machine  and then the hilarious advertising mentioning 4 diodes and "unlike anything they've ever made".

...so yeah, $300 for another tone machine, no thanks. Looks nice though. Maybe they are paying royalties for the art they don't credit :whateva:

Yea it's public domain at this point unless someone owns the rights through generational inheritance or something?

This is interesting though. Free Ebook with a lot of artwork.

If it's public domain I don't see the issue. Its highly likely that this image was found in one of those Dover books full of royalty free images, they have a ton of Art Nouveau ones out. Its pretty common to have uncredited stuff in those books. Sometimes, the credit is in some giant index in the back of the book but not always.

Quite possible it was an accident yeah lol

In any case the format of the pedal with top knobs is a much bigger deal

and this...though I think I'm more bothered by the price

That said, good luck to them, and here's to all 100 selling out instantly.
