Yes, that's still the case, and it's a lot to fork out just for extra features. Having said that, it requires power and so seems pretty er... powerful. From what I've read (I can't get the main stonedeaf page to open for some reason) it can adjust tone, scooped filter, boosted filter or the freq control, but it looks like it just has one knob on it to set the low parameter of the actual sweep, and I can't see any exp mode toggle on the pdf2, so I'm not sure if you can jump from one parameter to another on the fly or if you're stuck with one choice and have to open it up to change it :idk:

I have long been interested in the PDF-2 but for some reason the look of it really turns me off - aesthetics are usually the least of my concern

Thanks, I'll give it some thought. :thumb:

Oddly, I kind of feel the opposite. Usually I'm picky about aesthetics, and if it was any other brand, or type of enclosure I'd be put off, but for some reason I'm fine with these. Although if I went for the PDF2 I wonder if I could ask them to put an enclosure aside and just not have it screen printed?

You can borrow my PDF 1 any time if you want. Didn't even think to offer  but that would be no hassle.

Yeah so I've heard, and that's why I want to try it, but most dirt pedals don't make that cut when having to sound good going into my amps clean channel on low volumes.

Very few pedals so far do that, and for the dirt channel i've got black forest already.

How much is shipping? I'm gonna see if brands or goroth wants to split it with me to try it as well.
For sure!!

I have no experience with the PDF :/ I do really like the Broadcast, snagged a 24v one used from a fellow bass player who was getting an even fancier two channel one made. I was hoping at the time to NOT like it, since I had no real room for it on my board. I just always had wanted to try it. But it turned out I liked it A LOT. That said the tone control is pretty much useless for us bass folks since it is a low cut, and the thing has a great tone wide open. It also sounds very good at all three gain toggle settings, I use it most at medium gain since i already love my Barbershop for low gain stuff.
I've been searchin' for the dolphins in the sea.

Pdf2 is awesome. I haven't tried the broadcast.

Just know the PDF 2 slays, tons of gain on tap and just the best dirt section I've ever had paired with SS/bs buZzz

Bumping an old thread here to ask - do people reckon that these do could be interesting/work well together?

I'm pretty wedded to my pdf-2 for it's ability to carve out space for different parts in a recording mix, but am getting that familiar feeling of gassy sexual attraction towards the Broadcast...

(The other dirt pedal in the mix would be a switchable superfuzz/companion fuzz clone, and I'm also gassing to compare the Buzzz with that)

Since this post, I now have a broadcast and it fucking kills. I use it last in the chain and it works like a cranked amp, warming up digital effects like the boss frv1 and it still cleans up like a fuzz face. It goes from clear and crisp to mushy and saggy in low gain mode, like the amp-on-full sounds on a Cream or Faces record. On high gain, you get the fat saggy crunch all the way up to ultra compressed synthy fuzz. And it seems to be friends with every other amp and effect you mix it with. I almost want another as a backup (or to stack  ).

[I don't work for Hudson, I promise, I'm just a guy in love with a pedal :joy: ]
