Man that's so cool! Wish I lived near a library that had something like that. What a great selection too.

Yup. Gotta lobby the fuck out of the mayor so we can get music instruments in.

We have books, graphic novels & comics & mangas, cds, dvds, films on actual film, art (yeah you can borrow your home decorations from the library for 6 weeks), board games, video games...and I live in the burbs. I mean there are even game consoles and tvs and a freaking movie theater you can use there.

When our local indie video store finally closed down in 2015 they donated their entire selection (and there are some amazing movies in there) to the Portland public library. Always though that was real cool.

Fuck yeah.

I'm with DD on the lobbying thing for my own town.

Or, I would be, if I thought local councillors could read and were interested in libraries and the arts at all.

The only money that gets spent developing this city is to get money out of people. Thet built a library a few years back and can barely afford to run it.

Same in my area. They'll put townhouses up on a swamp and a block of shops at every intersection but fuck giving people anything to do.
Unless you're an oldie.

Home

Should have taken more advantage of it than just a Microbrute, but I was happily caught up in the thrift keyboard/drum machine game.

If only AA/Ypsi's music scene was as open as the library.

So this same library had a mini Moogfest today. Thanks to spacelordmother for alerting me.

I don’t even know what to say. I can check a meat box out of this library any day of the week. There were local modular builders and collectives there. Arturia stuff. Tons of Moog gear. Theremin. Critter and Guitari. Make Noise. So much modular that I didn't even get to look at all of it. Ran into a colleague and a friend right away, talked with tons of people. Hung out with the Red Panda guy for a while, played with the new Tensor (which is pretty great).

Several performances, lots of weirdness. The MC ran his audio through glitch pedals.

This happened in the giant basement of a local library.

I almost cried. Not kidding. Asked the staff if we could do this every weekend.

About 45 mins away from AA. I'm in AA pretty frequently.
