probably not going for it mostly out of being cheap/working towards selling/buying a bigger place this spring

Generally pre-order stuff like this is cheaper than the retail price would be but it doesn't seem to be the case here.

Kinda curious why you can't back the project for less for something like stickers/t-shirt/an angry call to an ex-girlfriend.....it's 295 or nothing.
Yea, kinda wish there was shirts and stuff too (would totally get some of that)...but I totally see this as market research because only the pedals are being offered at retail...

300 is just a lot to spend for me right now (with new LAL on the horizon...among other things like tires haha).

understanding a bit from a market research perspective,
might work great,

You're welcome.

She said she'll be putting the ring mod back in production (& I'm sure it'll probably be kinda expensive.) :idk:

Yeah, apparently, I had no idea there was all this ill feeling towards Frantone.

Next time I come across something like this, I'll just PM the two or three people I think're interested.

I don't think it's ill will towards frantone, more a very negative reaction to kickstarters in general

and feel free to post about it even if people are negative,
no such thing as bad press

It's not bashing. I have no personal relationship, and they've been out of the game for a while. Past performance doesn't indicate future performance, after all, and if I'm looking at what to consider tossing coin at, I have to take the "in hand" versus risk.

There's no specs on said proffer, there's nothing past "this is the old one."

Kickstarter in general is something I'm mystified by - if there's an established brand especially. Either you're making enough to make the product fly (or can convince others of same with a vested interest in seeing reward from their risk) or you're not.

Full retail for taking a gamble...doesn't seem like a great deal to me, pure and simple.

Can someone describe Fran's delivery in the video I'm struggling.

Her Kickstarter campaign's far from perfect, but I don't think it's that bad either. She's not really offering much, but her goals aren't unreasonable.

I know there are fans of her pedals around (including some here). I think that's more who this Kickstarter is directed towards.

I wish her goodluck 'n all. I know it is pointless to discuss boutique pricing. But her retail pricing is one BIG MISTAKE, there`s no big hype about fran pedals among pedaloldfags and I just don`t get why somebody new to this brand would decide to buy it. For this money you can get a couple of used fuzz pedals like EQD ( which are fucking awesome ) or get smth vintage.

I think she should have done a standard price option thing like everyone does with Kickstarter or offer multiple pedals. I'd be WAY more interested if there was something I actually wanted! LOL! I wish her all the best though!

I'm a bit out of the loop on this one, and I haven't watched the videos yet but I thought that Fran partnered up with the bear paw company? Did that fall apart? Is that why she's looking for funding?

Yeah, her partnership with Bearfoot fell through. Honestly, I think she's better off without 'em.

I don't think her funding goal is unreachable. I think she's being realistic about this.

Obviously, it's for a limited market. Doesn't seem to have widespread appeal.

Yeah I'd rather hear and be given a chance to help (if I like the product of course) than not hear anything about it.

I've backed over 30 successful kickstarters, all of which have delivered or have kept the backers up to date...
Everything from comics to video games to gear (synthino xm)

That being said it seems like Frantone doesnt understand Kickstarter.
If your not offering a discount or a special something for the Kickstarter, the chances of it being successful isn't very good.
Also not having the smaller items like t shirts stickers and such also cuts down on the success rate....

They are basically using it as a pre order only...
Which doesn't make sense....

You're absolutely right. Fran's old school. She doesn't understand Kickstarter.

Still, I think she has a good chance of reaching her goal. It's not unattainable.

I just wanna know how auto spell correct came up with "pedaloldfags". I think I know a few of those.

She's awfully smart, and an active Twitter user, so I'm somewhat surprised her campaign isn't better designed. But I think she'll get to the goal, no problems.

I too am glad the bearfoot thing fell through. Dude does not inspire confidence in anything pedal related.
