I really really like the Holy Grail before dirt. It's just so crappy sounding that it's good. But the HoF after dirt wins it in my book

I wouldn't mind a holy grail for that purpose but I'm running out of board space quickly. I can't sacrifice a single fuzz.skullservant wrote:I really really like the Holy Grail before dirt. It's just so crappy sounding that it's good. But the HoF after dirt wins it in my book

Love this reverb. Plays well with dirt. Plus that swell switch.Uncle Grandfather wrote: Cadavernous

I dont think I have tried the RRR in front of my dirt in a band setting. that may be a gamechanger. HoF is getting a lot of praise. Ill have to check it! Thanks guys

I manage to get clean fuzzy verbs through a Stymon BlueSky
its got hi/low dappening knobs that lets you control many aspects of the reverb. plus the decay and mix knobs offer even more options and subtleties. +1 for the favorite preset switch<3

Digiverb works pretty well for this if you wanna pinch pennies.

I've totally tried it in my bedroom but never in a band context. I always have the mix all the way at 100% and the level was always down low because of the major volume boost. But there was this weird issue that when I stepped on the reverb there would be this intense harsh trebly noise. I am going to email Ryan about it. I am using a furman power conditioner and the RRR is being powered independently so I don't know why I am having this issue.sonidero wrote:Whaaa??? That's prolly cause you sooo wet... I use both RRRs at maybe 25% wet and use the vol boost sparingly... Back off the verb signal and try it before dirt and let your eyes open to a whole new World...
Also my pre dirt verb is always on so it has to be low...

Supermoon Chrome is so good before some fuzz. But might be too bright for you.
I've almost pulled the trigger on a RRR several times but there's so many awesome reverbs out there it's impossible to keep up. One day I'll have to try it. The way you guys talk it up it's gotta be amazing.

Hardwire Supernatural or Digiverb. Both go 100% wet, have a ton of modes, and a tone knob to get dark. The Supernatural has a lot of low end, maybe that would be best out of the two.

HOF is really nice for generalish and modulated stuff. Doesn't do shimmer, but that's okay by me. I've got a Zoom Multi-stomp (100BT) that does shimmer and stunt tricks, and some pretty good bread and butter, but the HOF makes me happier.

Re: Reverb to use with a lot of fuzz!!!???
I have a trinity now (liked the black color, plus the cathedral preset that is used at least 50% of the time) and am pretty happy with it. My custom toneprint tends to change, but is usually always pretty crazy from messing around in the editor. You can beam it via phone or usb cable with no hassles. I'd definitely like to try a context, RRR, or a disaster transport sometime. I end up using verb almost all the time, but have noticed you really need to dial back the mix blend when recording... what it sounds like with your ears in the room vs a close up sm57 is wayyyy different.

Also, plate reverb into fuzz = rad. After fuzz = hall2 all the way.
