For you--and anyone else who's gone this long without playing anything musical--what was it like returning to it after the break? Was your playing/attitude/anything different?

I definitely felt a surge of creativity, kinda rusty in the fingers, but felt an almost 3rd person appreciation of my own playing that I never have

I spent only a month out of the country away from my gear, years ago, and that was enough withdrawal time for me to draw this.

Spent 7 weeks travelling a couple of summers ago. Around week 6 I bought a shitty toy guitar on the street because I just couldn't stand not playing anymore. That thing is TERRIBLE. I still have it and plan to fit a pickup some day. 6 weeks without guitar was craaaazy, I feel a longing before the end of a single week.

I was in Mexico for a week last December. Nothing musical around at all. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked. Was fun for other reasons tho.

Went without an amp and pedalboard one summer in DC, then the next summer without any guitar.
I was pretty productive after. So much inspiration came after listening to more music than usual over months. Granted, a lot of it went nowhere but I really loved guitar once I had one again.

That said, I don't really want to go without again.
