Yeah I never really counted them as Smashing Pumpkins after it was just Billy and Jimmy, I mean don't get me wrong, I actualy really liked Doomsday Clock but I kind accepted them as dead already so this event is of no consequence for me personally. I moved on to Silversun Pickups as future hope haha

Ditto on the Pickups. i listened to their myspace way back at the beginning of SP starting up and thought "this is cool." Then 6 months ago my girlfriend put them on in the car and I was like "This is fucking awesome!"

The weirdest thing to me is even now that jimmy leaves(who for me is more of there sound than billy was..."your only as good as your drummer") there are still those on his site that still totally back this faux pumpkins gig all the way.... I admit at first I was willing to accept james and d'arcy's absence if it meant they'd be touring again...I can tell you right off the bat that billy will not sound like the pumpkins without jimmy...people keep saying this "billy is the pumpkins" shit.....no, he was the "songwriter" and the "singer" 99 percent of the time. Billy has lost his fucking mind....he has become the very thing he talked shit about and "stood against" before this comeback thing. I mean...he sues his label for putting a song on a ford commercial claiming that their actions damaged his credibility thus hurting his income thus entitling him to more money......which is cool and all.....until you license your shit out to VISA among others....I mean "visa"???? really??? and not only is "today" being played on a credit card commercial (which I guess is ironicly appropriate considering the meaning of the song and the total credit nightmare a lot of people find themselves in right now).
And to those who don't get why Jimmy left......does he have to come out and fucking spell it out for you? Look at what he says....I'm not gonna mince words here.....but he pretty much says that while he isn't leaving on bad terms (define "Bad terms") but the goals of the band are not congruent with his own(which are basicly not compromising for the sake of money) and that he can't make himself do this when he disagrees with it principally. Good for Jimmy, I think James,Jimmy, and D'arcy should start a band and call it "Zero" or something, do a record and a tour, and lets see once and far all how much of the pumpkins really where in them.
I wonder why everyone has lost their fucking minds>>? I was listening to Chris Cornell's commentary on his latest solo record (which is an abomination hands down) and him talking about the reason why he used Timbaland is because of all the "units he has sold " ......??? This NIN/JA has been the only thing that has made sense in a while.......and of course the only person not making shitty decisions has decided to take a break from music (trent)

I used to be a huge fan of the Pumpkins. I mean, I listened to the home recordings of Glass and the Ghost Children before the release of Machina and was completely crazy for Billy's work. I was the total Pumpkins fanboy that people make fun of nowadays. But Zeitgeist was (in my opinion) dull and uninspired. I honestly dig everything that they've done except for Zeitgeist (and I guess whatever stuff they're coming out with now.)
The Chamberlin Complex has some really cool stuff though, I'm excited to hear what they're up to. And Loki Cat was a gorgeous tune. But in all honesty, I think it's about time to set the name down and just move on. If yer gonna make bad music, don't muck up a good name with it.
This is all just my opinion, folks. Not tryin to start any pumpkin wars.
