Shiva or TGD

I love them both (shiva and TGD). I don't have a boost type pedal, but I know when you Assblaster > Small Stone > B:assmaster > TGD and do various combinations of on / off with the SS and B:A you get nice variations of pulses, squeals, farts, and hisses.

Really anyone have both these pedals. I am strongly considering getting a dark boost. any other comments on the dark boost?

Devi sent me a Dark boost PCB so I will know about it soon, and the DB/TGD mashup we've been talking about.

well I just traded for a DB so I will know as well. Untill recently I just figured the DB was a clean boost but darker but after actually listening to it I hear overdrive! sweet im excited!

TGD does the same thing I usually (on TGD) change the gain setting and dial the sound back in usually just nudging a knob will bring it back

In my mind there is very little overlap between the two. shiva is well suited to all the "normal" fuzz jobs, growly, octave, splatter in some settings. Then there is a limited oscialltion capability. The TGD is a balls out weapon that you can only count on for one thing. fucking shit up. it's (almost) always oscillating, and it's pretty tough to get a "rock band" kind of chord-y fuzz out of it, it's always going to be splattering or trying to oscillate. TGD is more of a noise synth that happens to accept an input signal

Actually, I had a question about the Shiva: does the Shiva typically sound different from day to day for other users? I had a sound last night, and when I plugged in this morning (same settings) it was totally different and was oscillating like crazy. Any thoughts?

Oh yeah. We've run into that. There's a few "garaunteed" tones in there, and the rest is kind of icing on the cake, IMO.

okay. so if a boost makes a TGD sound "more normal," my simple question is why would someone want a TGD to sound "normal." why not just a get a normal, usable fuzz. or a Shiva instead?
or am i missing something???

Well I got my DB and now I cant decide whether i want to keep it pre or post TGD! It sounds great both ways but when the DB is pre TGD still lets out TONS of highs so I am thinking I will keep it post and maybe get some other boost to feed TGD (TGD HUNGRY!!). I am loving how the DB overdrives with TGD feeding it. Dark and beefy.
