the ehx pitch-shifters, while simple, sound terrible with fuzz to my ears. It's a very flat one-dimensional high-pitched squall; even on octave down settings. Octave up is better, but there's do defeating the squall unless you run it shifter>fuzz, never fuzz>shifter>fuzz when it comes to ehx.
