Well if it's not much of a difference, series it is. Series is easier in theory.

you can wire each pair in parallel and then wire the pairs in series. each parallel pair of 8 ohm speakers becomes 4 ohms. 4 ohms would be better for that bassy sound you want. parallel + series = best of both worlds.

If you wire two (or more) speakers in series, the total impedance is the sum of the individual speakers' impedance.
So if you're going to wire 6, 8ohm speakers in series, your amp is gonna see 48ohms.
you need to work some series/parallel mojo in there.
