Awesome, hclapp219. Thanks for the report. I actually didn't need tasting notes, but only if you thought it's good coffee.

Yeah, I took a look at the Bent Tree website. They say the that it's a blend. They don't identify the components of the blend other than to say it's a "unique pairing of Latin American coffees". Then I turned my interest to their single origin offerings. Looks like not too bad of a line up.

Looking at the rest of their website, there were a couple of flags that identify them as "green" roasters. In the "About Us" section they refer to the beans they use as "Arabican". I've never heard that word used, only "Arabica". In their brewing guide they say to use "coffee that’s been roasted in the last couple weeks". I'd say anything over a week is really pushing it in terms of freshness. Not that I'd hold either of these two quibbles against 'em. I still might order some coffee from 'em.

Fruity notes, you say? Could be using some kind of East African blend. If you use it for iced coffee and it tastes really good, that could what they did!

Coffee and pedals, two of my favorite things...this is epic!

I'd order some, but by the time it got through customs to me the coffee just wouldn't be fresh.

Sadness.

If you get somebody to vacuum seal it, it'll stay fresh, but there needs to be a one-way valve for the air to bleed out.

Freshly roasted coffee gives off GAS.
