Awesome, hclapp219. Thanks for the report. I actually didn't need tasting notes, but only if you thought it's good coffee.
Yeah, I took a look at the Bent Tree website. They say the that it's a blend. They don't identify the components of the blend other than to say it's a "unique pairing of Latin American coffees". Then I turned my interest to their single origin offerings. Looks like not too bad of a line up.
Looking at the rest of their website, there were a couple of flags that identify them as "green" roasters. In the "About Us" section they refer to the beans they use as "Arabican". I've never heard that word used, only "Arabica". In their brewing guide they say to use "coffee that’s been roasted in the last couple weeks". I'd say anything over a week is really pushing it in terms of freshness. Not that I'd hold either of these two quibbles against 'em. I still might order some coffee from 'em.
