It's alright, even if he didn't sell it to me. One day, I'll get my hands on an old Peavey head and I will love it all the more. SO the search continues.
See if Skullservant still has his rockmaster. Those things smoke!

My buddy is selling a Peavey Roadmaster for 175 bucks, should I buy it? Should I? I'm seriously considering it. I mean 12 tubes... that ...
If you haven't already,
BUY IT! I have one, along with an older Peavey Mace, and they're great. Combined I have 320 watts of 6L6 power. It's a megalomaniac's dream . . .
I just missed this part:

Whatta heel! Ideally I'd get either 2 more Roadmasters or a Roadmaster and a Mace, then I could go for the full 640 watts . . .

Thanks! I've had both amps since they were new. I just replaced the tubes and am getting ready to fire 'em up . . .

PEAVEY KVLT. I'm actually going to be really honest when I say I prefer it tone-wise over my Sunn

I've had 5 guitar amps, the two Peavey heads in the picture and a Fender Blues Jr. My first was a Peavey Pacer, which was a great little amp. I made the mistake of selling it and getting an Acoustic, but I atoned by trading it in on the Peavey Mace. With a few exceptions, I'm sticking with Peavey's for large amps and Fenders for small ones, though I could be persuaded with a Mesa Boogie Triple Rec or two.
I also have a Peavey Max bass head, plus I had one in the late 80's. Unlike some of their current Max amps, this one is a CS800 power amp with a pre-amp and built into a flight case. I got tired of bass players not having a large enough amp to keep up with my Peavey's, so I solved the problem. I found a used one a while back and grabbed it for my brother to use. Now I just have to track down a 2X18/2X10 Black Widow cabinet, and we'll be set, for a while, anyway . . .

Oh well, someone's gotta have it (sorry, couldn't resist). It does tempt one to entertain megalomaniacal ideation (great word, that!). You also have to be careful not to expose your ears too much. Those warnings in the manuals aren't kidding!
