They 'say' they have fender neck pockets, but both Elwood and I found different... The necks are slightly wider than a Fender or Squier, so you'll have to side shim if you swap necks. Mine was thicker than the Squier neck, so my rollers are practically down to the bridgeplate. They need a full setup out of the box, badly. After having my JT 90 Telemaster copy for only a couple months, the switch went to crap. Cheap tuners, slighly better than Squier pickups.
I'd stick to Squiers. You can find Teles used in the same price range, andtry it before you buy. I sure the hell wouldn't buy another, even on sale.

I have a Xaviere xv-700 thinline. It's light. It plays great. Has good sustain. The pickups are muddy, and there are lots of little manufacturing screwups. The holes for the tuners aren't drilled correctly. Lots of little finish defects.
Still it play fine and has great sustain. I've given it to my daughter.

I tried to buy one of their Telemasters and they sent me an email saying they wanted my social security number and a scan of my driver's license. They went so far as to say that they would hold my order from shipping indefinitely if I wouldn't provide them both. They had already taken my money, so I said I just wanted to cancel my order and get my money back.
They refused until I opened a fraud claim with my bank. It was ridiculous.
I wouldn't order from them just because of that, but a lot of other people will tell you that you'd be way better off with a Squier anyway.

That's outrageous! Why would they do that?

I should note that my Jazzmaster copy was purchased second-hand at a Guitar Center. So I didn't know about shit like this.
Fuck them. Only state and federal agencies are allowed to for that kind of personal identification.

I've ordered off and on from them for years...and never had anything like that come up. Sorry they gave you trouble man.
Last time I ordered, they did send it to the wrong place, then like a month later I got my stuff...then like 2 weeks after that I got my stuff again

whoops

Hmmm, this is no bueno. Squier CV it is. Also Noisemaker, that's really weird and crappy. I've bought and returned pickups/accessories with them before and had no problems. That's still poopy, though.

They claimed it was to verify my identity prior to shipping. Not only was it my name on the card, but the address too. Not only that, but any normal company has no way to use either a driver's license or a SSN for anything.
I have no idea what the game was. They backed off and refunded my money once the fraud claim went in, so at least I got out of it with nothing more than a headache. I went and bought a Blacktop Jazzmaster instead.

I've owned Xaviers(strat, tele, semi hollow lp copy). Good tones, build quality=questionable. I liked the Agile LP Special copy I sold grindonomicon much better. Also, lol @ all things elwd/el wood related in this thread
