Both. You can do without either with enough nasty fuzz, but.. having both verb and delay are great with fuzz before them and after. For not only solos but weird chord chopping and droning synthy fuzz, too. I've recently been enjoying some smoking fuzz love with
octave fuzz >> dly + verb >> more fuzz >> wah.

Next I'd love to try placing fuzz in a deluxe memory boy fx loop. :animal:

Not only do you need both, you need duplicates of both; pre-fuzz and post-fuzz. Combo pedals like the Dispatch Master are acceptable for this.

I just got a Midfi Deluxe Pitch Pirate and I have yet to stomp my reverb pedal since I got it.
Plenty of delays will give you passable reverb if you keep the time way back.
But it is nice having both cause you have way more sonic options.

Yeah, I definitely want a dedicated reverb for gazin', but the SMMH reverb/using short delay times and pretending it's reverb is cool. I use my Sea Machine for reverb quite a lot as well, it does amazing spring-y sorts of things with some chorus mixed in, so great.

it also makes the warble much more pronounced. i like how every control is so connected to eachother so that with some fiddling, you can get the same sound from like 5 different knob combos

If you have to have just one, go with delay and use it to taste. Depending on what you're up to, live, the room will provide some smear, and the mixing desk can apply a little if you feel you need it

I don't really like digital reverb on guitars live. On bass, both.

I don't really like any reverb on guitars live, the room normally does enough that you don't need it. Unless it's really intense reverb, like Neil Young sort of explosion sounds, that's cool.

No reverb on my board (there is reverb on my amp).
Sometimes I use delay to create reverb.

I use my delay for reverb all the time, but I have to have a separate reverb as well in case I'm using my delay for delay sounds and need use of the reverb as well within the same song.
