Well i have the patterns organized into sets based on length at the moment. So there is one set that is length 2 which is just bouncing between 2 notes. But ya, i will definitely add some diminished 7th.

Yeah, after writing that I thought about it and actually just bouncing between 2 notes would be really cool! I was just stressing that I meant including the whole dim7 chord.

This, most definitely this.

And please oh please let it track on bass.

I tried to design it so. It tracks down to 30 Hz at the moment. To put that in perspective, the lowest note on a standard tuned 4 string bass is ~42 Hz and 5 string ~31 Hz (low B). I will definitely make some clips on bass and then you can judge the tracking quality for yourself. I should have some form of demo by next week.

So Scott, you're making something where you play the root note and it harmonizes to make the arpeggio?

yes. actually it has 2 modes.

The first is like you said, it just harmonizes to whatever is being played in at that time. The harmonized interval cycles according to some preset pattern. Just say for simplicity the pattern is +Perfect 5, +1 octave. If you play a C the notes will be G and a C above that. If you play a D the notes will be A and the D above etc.

The second is a bit different. Its a bit more convenient if your trying to keep the arpeggio in a certain key. There is a second footswitch that you can tap to "grab" whatever you are playing at that moment, similar to the ehx freeze, (but probably not quite as well implemented :whateva: ). So say you play a C then hit the button. Whamo C is in the device and the arpegio coming out will be G and C alternating no matter what you play. IT's good for sort of setting up a backdrop then noodling about on it (there is a blend knob to mix in the clean and effected sounds). Every time you tap the button it grabs exactly what you are playing. So you can update it on the fly. Im not sure if that makes too much sense but really i will demo it soon. both modes are pretty fun. In the first mode mentioned, the tap switch works as a tap tempo.

just fyi this is pretty much an automatic buy for me. :P

maybe for a future version, it'd be interesting to perhaps have an SD card that stores the arpeggios or something, so you can add/edit them

yes i thought of that only after i made it. if it gets to the point where i make a second revision i will probably just stick a usb plug on it and you can dump a text file onto it with the sequences or something like that.

i can make any arpeggio you want in advance at least :\

i was trying to think of a not completely confusing (to the user) way to implement an editor right on the unit. i have some ideas but nothing so slick yet.

either way i'm pretty sure people will be looking forward to it. its a rad idea.

and while i'm freeballing, maybe have an expression pedal out that could sweep through the notes of the arpeggio depending on the position

thats a pretty good idea too that i did not consider at all. next time i will hire you as a consultant.

this is actually already revision b. the first one was much more limited/did not track as well/could not do any arbitrary pitch transposition/ no tap tempo / no hold mode... so until these suggestions i thought i had done ok. (;
