i think the combination of the colours and lighting in those photos makes them look really cheap. i would take a MIJ guitar over them any day. they're also probably going to be unreasonably expensive in the UK like most guitars are, the fender road worns seem kind of cool but for 700 quid for a mexican guitar they can fuck right off

They aren't real pics - just "thrown together" photoshop images/renderings.
I'll throw together some better looking ones. Even the OSG Dressing room puts out higher quality than what Fender did with these images.
My plan: Pre-order with a 20% off MF coupon. Brings the total to ~$360 for an actual Jazzmaster. Compared to the Jagmaster at $270, that's a hell of a deal.

As a Fender whore, I am interested to see how this plays out. If the JM routing plays nice for a pickup swap, I'm in.

Excellent. This is smart. Stripped down and fully functional. It'll be so easy to build up a Jaguar or Jazzmaster this way. Buy this and then replace the parts at your leisure. YES!

The Jazzmaster in 3T Sunburst will be pretty hot. I'm excited to see the actual pictures. Is Fender coming out with any new basses?

....actually I think Elbanditos might be a bit more expensive but they're custom so it makes sense
