hey you've mentioned that before & i was wondering if you wanted to start another thread about it or care to elaborate.

i've kind of been hoarding receivers & 8-track players for a while now but i am a little hesitant to try this becuz don't want to blow any speakers. obvious alternative i guess would be to run it into a mixer & run that out to guitar amp or speaker but i have been a little lazy to actually try that.

if i may suggest...
viewtopic.php?f=44&t=10449
it has a warm low end... quite fuzzy for an overdrive, but i think the oscillation mode would really kick it up for your purposes.

Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate it. I hate to say it, but my criteria has changed a little bit. My friend let me use his soda meiser, and it was pretty cool, but not exactly what I'm looking for. Because of this, and the few demos I've seen, I don't think I could make much use out of any devi ever effects or anything that's as intense as those things. I also have played an Ibanez tube screamer and a DS-1 before, and those weren't my thing either. I'd rather not spend more than $50 now simply because I realized how much I've been spending on pedals lately, and it's sick hahaha. In fact, I plan on getting an octave to go along with a distortion pedal, and it'd be real nice to get both of them for under $100.

I was looking at a cheap Dano distortion or fuzz and I saw somebody on here is selling an Ibanez FZ7 fuzz, which sounds interesting enough. If it came down between one of those two, which would you guys suggest? Is there any other cheap dirt/distortion/fuzz/rager of a pedal that you'd suggest?

Theres a dano fuzz for like $30 in bst right now...it's a clone of a frantone peach fuzz i think?

Probably out of your price range (it was outta mine, but I got the hook up), but the DBA supersonic fuzz gun is AWESOME!

I don't know if it's noisy enough, but you could try the Noisemaker Bad Mother Fuzzer - viewtopic.php?f=44&t=11047

It's only $50...

Aye...tis. It's a nice pedal for the money and if you crank it and put a boost behind it you can get pretty loud. It's not too crazy though...

I have a weird thing for Fuzz Factories...I think I've had 4 now, and every time I sell one I always wish I had it back. They can make some really great squeally noise. You can find them for like $120 if you look around...

I used to have that thing. Now, I have a thing for something I'd never have a thing for. A DBA product. :picard:

brummy wrote:I'm wanting to crank up my noise project a little and make some real harsh jams. I know I'm gonna need a fuzz or distortion of some kind, but there's just sooooo many out there. I'm probably going to be using it mostly with vocals, but I might want to run a tape player or even my microkorg through it at some point too. It has to give me a huge sound and be really dirty as well as have a good bit of lower frequencies (or I might just get an octave pedal to go with, not sure yet). As I'm poor, I'd like to not spend over $100 if that. What would you guys suggest I look into?

@floatingopera's got it. Get a DOD Grunge or Death Metal, depending on what you want to control, tone or gain. They're similar in sound. Grunge has Vol, Low Hi, Gain. Death Metal has Vol, Low, Mid, High, with the gain cranked and the knob ripped off. Both can be had for under $50 on ebay.
