I'm glad I started this thread. It's cool seeing who started with what. For me, despite the unfortunate things associated with the company, $10 was totally worth a trip down memory lane. But it still boggles my mind why Dano made these stupid heavy enclosures that will survive the end of the world, and outfitted them with the cheapest knobs, jacks, and switches around. My first one had the fab knob snapped clean off when my brother tripped over the guitar lead...I was so pissed at the time..

My first pedal was a Rocktek phaser. I figured I didn't need a dirt pedal since my Gorilla CG20 had a built in tube crunch knob and a six inch speaker. My second pedal was a block logo MXR Distortion+ which I got after getting an amp with a bigger speaker but no built in dirt.

Think first was a whammy because I wanted to rip off tom morello. Sold it when I got bored of doing that, but sometimes I miss it because they are a lot of fun.

Second I'm pretty sure was a digitech digidelay or a crybaby. Can't remember the exact order..

Pretty sure my first one was a Boss AC-3 for whatever stupid reason fourteen year old me had.

Then naturally a Big Muff, and a little later the Retro-Sonic analog delay and an RMC Wizard Wah because Gilmour. Also had a T-Rex Mudhoney at some point there, and different EHX pedals because they are easy to find cheap on the used market around here. Then I got the Fuzz Factory, and found my little niche in sound mangling.

Same. I loved it, but it was far too deep/complex for me at the time. Wouldn't mind trying it again.

It was either a DOD Grunge (still don't mind those things) or an oldschool Digitech Multi FX from like the 90s... actually halfway decent! Well... I thought so at the time with my strat copy and my behringer amp....

NYC big box muff. I did not understand why it didn't sound like Mastodon, after all, it was a distortion pedal right? RIGHT?

ODB3 for me too. Followed quickly by a Little Big Muff (still have that one!), a Phase 90, and a Behringer delay. Running the LBM into the ODB with the blend at half is still one of my favorite sounds.

If I remember correctly...

1: Arion Overdrive. Plastic piece of shit. Might actually been a decent ovedrive for all I know. I just started playing guitar, and my amp+guitar would've made a klon sound like ass.

2: DS-1. Sucked back than, still sucks now.

3: FZ-3. Gloriously awesome, though it took me a couple years to realise it

Then it gets blurry, I'm not sure about the actual order...But there was an 80s ibanez WH10, an Ibanez phaser (one of those soundtank ones), '70s mxr phase 45, '70 ehx big muff pie,...And then my dad got internet, and I discovered the world of boutique gear. Blew my money on a couple brand new Lovetone peds, a rat, a very early 70s Orange OR120, '72 tele deluxe...

And now I've got bills to pay and kids to feed. My current guitars were made in Mexico or Japan, my amps were made in a Canada and China, and most of the peds I use were made in the '80s or early '90s

The ODB3 is such an awesome, nasty, versatile, and underrated fuzz pedal for guitar. I feel stupid for not finding out about that a decade ago instead of a couple months ago
