Do you remember your first (or second) pedal?
My very first pedal was a crybaby, and my second was a Danelectro Fab Tone when I was 13. I was in Guitar Center last week and they had a used Fab Tone for ten bucks, so I grabbed it, mostly for nostalgia's sake. Way more gain than I remember, so mods are coming, but when I was 13 there was no such thing as too much.
What was your first ped? Ever pick one up simply for old time's sake?

My first pedal was a Turbo RAT. I've never bought a second one. But, I've thought about it.

I co-bought a DOD Thrash Master with my friend in like 1993. Then I picked up one of these for $4 that same year at a guitar show:

Which I recall sounding pretty gnarly through my friend's Shure Vocal Master direct into a tape deck. That was our recording rig back then, I'd love to replicate that now, haha. No idea what happened to that pedal, we abruptly stopped being friends the next year, he probably sold it for drugs or threw it away.

Good deals on ILF: too many to list, just ask!

My first was a DOD bass distortion I found in my friend's closet. He said, "It sucks, you can have it." Never had an amp to try it and don't have a clue what happened to it. My second was a Zoom 505 bass that maybe the same friend gave to me and I only used it as a tuner once until I realized it was broken. Then I think I got a DOD Grunge from somebody that was on clearance at the local store for like $10 but I don't remember using it until I got a my Laney bass amp and only maybe once then. I think I sold it and got the Korg AX1000g because it had a ring mod. Had that for years and years until I gave it to my friend last year.
Then I got another DOD Grunge and EHX FA.

Guyatone Metal Monster.
Then a Bad Horsie wah.
17 years later I still have, and enjoy, both of them.

My first two pedals were actually clones that I built and tweaked myself. A germanium PNP fuzz face and a MXR distortion plus.

The unflippable. Recently took it out of the closet for this glamour shot. Best guess purchased in '96.

Re: Do you remember your first (or second) pedal?
First was a Hardwire CM2 which is actually a reall dope bass od. But max gain was "meh" to my ears that had just discovered fuzz. So I bought a Devi Ever Aenima that had an oscillation toggle second. That was the only oscillating fuzz I ever bonded with

Re: Do you remember your first (or second) pedal?
Making me feel old.
Got a Boss PS-2 the day they hit the local mom&pop in the stone age. Cost over a week's pay at minimum wage (which thankfully I wasn't doing at the time).
Got a Tascam 4 track the same day.
Dropped almost $600 that visit when that was real money.
Haven't ever bought another one, haven't had a desire (and I can get that era's pitch shifting out of my other units already), I bought it for the then unprecedented 2 seconds of delay in a pedal format.

Re: Do you remember your first (or second) pedal?
Ibanez soundtank 'thrash master'. For bass. It was a piece of shit, but I sounded like lighnting bolt like a good decade before they did! Found it in the cupboard when my parents moved out of their old place a few years ago. It didn't work.
Second was a boss t-wah. Later on I got it rehoused into a box with some other cheap pedals with some circuit bends that didn't end up being very useful. Sold it to someone.
I saved up for months to buy both of those.
