The 101 has mini keys. The CZ-1000 might be better. Full size keys.
Shit, you're right... I actually intended to put down the -1000 but my brain hijacked itself... Thanks! :thumb:

And no arpeggiator, but you can do some SICK things with those 8-stage envelopes!

Just make sure you get this: https://coffeeshopped.com/casio-cz-101-patch-editor

No problem man. To be honest I don't know of many keyboards with arpeggiators.

Here's everything they have: http://www.korgforums.com/downloads.htm
I keep these guys bookmarked because they are a really great little resource/community, and I tend to have a few pieces of Korg gear most of the time.
The R3 software and downloaded patches are a piece of cake. I like being able to audition new sounds and build a fresh bank of good stuff quickly. I only moved on from the R3's delivering of that because I got an Arturia Keylab and a Fantom XR

the septavox, it looks cool but I think I would prefer having normal keys over the wooden buttons. although the buttons are actually pretty easy to play. I wonder if it is less noisy than the PP.

doing some research on casio keyboards, damn they made a lot of different models! prices seem to be pretty decent on them which is cool.

Seconded.

Novation Ultranova could have what you want on the cheap. And it sounds pretty good.
Good deals: OsbornKT, Phantasmagorovich, UglyCasanova, DarkAxel, Skip, D.o.S, ColdBrightSunlight, Eivind August, Goroth

Thirded, the sheer volume of bang for the buck is unbeatable and unprecedented. And a keyboard isn't necessary right away, and can be found for super cheap later. I like the ipad and the Arturia softsynths both better than any hardware synth for creating my own synth sounds, which was a big contributing factor for me towards choosing a controller over a synth keyboard. I just prefer the onscreen environment for that. The other factor there is, why limit yourself to one synth from one company, or however many you can afford/fit in your house, when you could be playing a moog, a waldorf, an ms20 and a prophet simultaneously, with a kaossilator on the side, all inside the ipad.

My beater Roland RS-5 has one and performance-adjustable dials for various stuff.

Editing is a PITA though.

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

Ok... I'll say it again just in case nobody noticed : Alesis Micron ticks all your boxes and is pretty cheap too. Better synth engine than the microKorg/etc. and full size keys too.

Akai Miniak is the same synth engine, only the casing and layout are different. That might be another option to consider.

Yup, as I said previously. These things do sound very nice and their only inconvenient is that the programming interface involves selecting parameters in menus and tweaking them. But it's not that bad and there are LOTS of these parameters and you can assign the ones you want for each patch to a number of performance oriented controllers (knobs, sliders, etc.)...
