So far I have pickups and wiring harness. I soldered them together today. They sound nice when I hold my guitar up to them. Can't wait to get them into a guitar! Neck and body should be here Monday! Hopefully the pickup covers and pickguard are here then too!

Well it's built... For now. I'm waiting on some copper tape and that nasty pink pickguard.

I'm SUPER DUPER happy with it right now! It is the most excellent guitar I've ever held. Well I guess u have played nice ones but oh my god! Itl have never felt such a natural connection with a guitar like this. It sounds the way I want a guitar to sound. The Strat neck is super nice and comfortable, and best of all, it's not connected to a Strat! The Antiquity IIs sound amazing. I even like the rhythm circuit.

Pics soon. I just need to put it down first :animal:

Dang neon good eye! Got it from the man himself last week! Maybe 15 people were at the show it was awesome! They successfully made the whole band have this melty cassette vibrato and there wasn't a Chase Bliss pedal in sight!

Thanks skully :D I love that neck, but I did notice it has one fret on one string that wonks out. I'm not too worried about it, because it's like the 15th fret on the d or g string and I never use it anyway. When I get my insanely loud pink pickguard I'm gonna shield it all up and drop it by the shop for the final check over. So far it's 10/10 on my guitlove scale. Can you tell I'm honeymooning?

I don't think it would be too hard to level that fret off. I didn't touch the tops of the frets, I just cleaned the sides of them when I had the neck cause they were jagged.

Might be able to adjust the neck angle/shim or bridge adjustments as well to fix or minimize it.

Yeah, I feel totally incompetent trying to do fretwork myself. I've had similar problems with other guitars and the dudes at the shop have fixed them up good and quick on the cheap. I figure I'll let them take care of it. It doesn't bother me too much as the rest of the neck is spot on!

So I played some kind of MIM Jazzmaster at the music shop. They had it listed at $800. I plugged into a Fender Bassman Ten combo and was ready to be blown away... and I was. Not by the guitar, but by how much more poorly it played/sounded compared to my guitar I built for about $400! I will definitely be using another Squier body for my Jaguar build, but I now have no remorse for not using a "genuine" Fender body. Granted, the "genuine" Fender neck is really what makes the guitar. For me!

agreed...the body on squire's are really good, especially on the higher spec ones...the neck and pickups is where its at with these guitars I feel, and fender necks are definitely a step above the squires (albeit the squires are really nice too)
